Keyboard shortcuts

Use these shortcuts when reviewing and triaging generated work.

These shortcuts are available when focus is not inside an input or textarea.

  • R: Open Project tab.
  • I: Open Issues tab.
  • S: Open AI sessions tab.
  • W: Open Workflow tab.
  • T: Open Settings tab.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4: Jump to Workflow steps 1-4.
  • F: Focus the current tab filter box (where available) and select its text.

Responsive note:

  • Under narrow layouts (around sub-760px widths), main tab captions can be hidden while shortcuts remain active.

In list filter textboxes (Issues, AI sessions, Workflow stories):

  • Enter: Open/select the first visible filtered item.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Run Full text search from the active filter when the query includes at least one 4+ character word.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Enter: Run Full text search using the free-form mode (same as sending the query with ~ prefix).
  • Down Arrow: Move highlight to next visible item.
  • Up Arrow: Move highlight to previous visible item.
  • Esc (first): Clear highlight if one is active.
  • Esc (next): Clear filter text.
  • Esc (again on empty filter): Blur the filter box.

Full text search tips:

  • Prefix the query with ~ to use broader free-form matching.
  • Without ~, search uses exact-phrase behavior.

When an issue is focused in Select issues:

  • Enter: If needed, scroll issue into view; otherwise toggle expand/collapse.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Toggle the focused issue checkbox without changing expansion.
  • C: Set Cancelled (with confirmation).
  • N: Set Not implemented.
  • P: Set Partial.
  • O: Set Errors.
  • D: Set Done (with confirmation).
  • E: Start editing the latest editable user note when available.
  • Shift+E: Start inline edit of the issue description.
  • L: Select the last processed session and refresh Step 1 issues for that session when needed.

When you are in Issues list view and not in filter/full-text search mode:

  • Alt+Enter: If needed, scroll selected item fully into view; otherwise move the pre-selection cursor forward.
  • Alt+Shift+Enter: Move the pre-selection cursor backward.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Select and open the next item.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Enter: Select and open the previous item.
  • Enter: Open the currently pre-selected item when it differs from the active selection.

Pre-selection uses a lighter cursor style than the active selection so you can preview where Enter will navigate.

Status-key behavior details:

  • If the focused issue is collapsed, status shortcuts are blocked and Aisman shows an informational message.
  • For button clicks, Done and Cancelled are applied without confirmation; keyboard shortcuts still keep confirmation.

While a confirmation dialog is open for status shortcuts:

  • Enter confirms.
  • Pressing the same shortcut key confirms (for example C, D, X, and other dialog-based status actions).

When focus is in a main list context and not inside a textarea/input that already owns arrow keys:

  • Up Arrow / Down Arrow: Move lightweight pre-selection without opening details.
  • Ctrl+Up Arrow / Ctrl+Down Arrow: Move and select/open immediately.
  • Left Arrow / Right Arrow: Navigate selection history in the current list context.
  • Ctrl+Left Arrow / Ctrl+Right Arrow: Jump between list groups and select that group’s last selected row (or first row if none was selected yet).

For inline markdown editing in issue/note editors:

  • Alt+Enter: Save and exit edit mode.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Insert 4 spaces.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Enter: Insert a tab character.
  • Alt+Ctrl+V: Toggle Edit/View mode for the active markdown editor.

For instruction/config textareas:

  • Alt+Enter: Save changes in these fields directly: #wfInstructions, #settingsInstructionsText, #aismanInstrText, #templateText.

For note editor textareas in Workflow Step 1:

  • Esc: Cancel note editing.
  • Alt+Enter: Save note editing.

Text-editing behavior in textboxes and textareas:

  • Arrow keys keep native caret movement.
  • Modified arrow combinations (Ctrl+Arrow, Shift+Arrow, Ctrl+Shift+Arrow) keep native selection/navigation behavior.
  • Esc triggers local Cancel when the editor provides visible Cancel and Save buttons; otherwise it blurs the input.

For confirm2 and alert2 dialogs:

  • Enter: Confirm the primary action when available.
  • Esc: Close or cancel the dialog.
  • Action: Ctrl+click a step tab.
  • Result: The same tab opens across all visible step cards.
  • Use when: You want to compare the same section quickly across many cards.
  • Action: Alt+click the step issues tab in a step card.
  • Result: The main list is filtered to items from that step card.
  • Use when: You want to focus on one generated batch.

The same Alt+click filter behavior is available in session issue tab contexts where filter-to-issues actions are shown.

Shortcuts can be context-sensitive. If a shortcut behaves differently in another part of the app, this page will be updated with the location-specific behavior.
